Finally, after endless cloudy and rain filled days, the sun was out in all of its glory yesterday. It was without a doubt the nicest day I have experienced since I arrived here on April 7th. Perhaps spring has arrived, even though it's about five weeks behind schedule. In any event, it was a good day to be outside, and today the warm, sunny weather is continuing.
Yesterday was also a fine day to take a stroll to Rainbow beach. Mary wanted to test out a new leash for Dora-dog, and she wanted to also give her "new" leg some additional exercise. So off to the beach we went.
Earlier in the week, I had taken Dora-dog on another stroll around the neighbourhood, down a road that we usually don't travel, and just as we were walking past a parked car, we were surprised by this furball, who caught us off guard. I was half expecting Dora-dog to confront this previously hidden furball, but all it took was a hiss and an arched back, and Dora-dog was more than happy to stand clear. We continued our journey and returned home shortly afterwards.
I have only a couple more days here to spend with Mary and Dora-dog, before I once again make a return journey to Canada, and onwards to Vancouver Island for my next couple of house sit gigs.
In the meantime, I will try to make the most of my time here, prior to my morning departure on Sunday, or should I call it Sadday instead?
grateful for every breath,
Paul
